Summary:
KLIM is a comedic film created as part of the 2024 Milk-Waukee Film Festival. Written, shot, and edited over the course of three days by Paul Johnson and Julia Donahue, the film was screened as part of the festival alongside many other milky films.
The film is a collection of absurd skits, all focusing on milk, of course, pieced together to create a hilarious and chaotic viewer experience. From gardening and cooking to everyday dairy-fueled mishaps and even unexpected car accidents, KLIM will deliver with every drop.
Director’s Statement:
This film was quite the experience to make, but I always enjoy collaborating with Julia, and we worked ourselves to the bone for this - strong bones, of course, because of the milk. The majority of the content was shot in a single day, and many of the skits were only finalized the night before! Sometimes, the best creativity comes from a tight deadline, and we were thrilled to present this piece at the Milk-Waukee Film Festival, alongside so many talented friends and filmmakers.
KLIM is most definitely ridiculous, a little crass, and entirely committed to the bit. Our goal was to get every laugh possible, whatever it took. While I had a great time making it, I definitely got covered in milk slightly more than I prefer in my usual filmmaking process.
We were honored to receive the Milkiest Film Award, and it was a joy to be a part of the whole experience. Who knows what kind of film next year’s festival will bring?
